The Lady Hornet Soccer team came out on a mission Thursday night, beating Dyersburg 8-0 in the 14AA District Championship game. SGC looked good from the opening whistle keeping constant pressure on the Dyersburg defense. The Hornet offense was able to crack the code 3 teams in the first half to take a 3-0 lead into halftime. In the second half, the Lady Hornets put on more steam, and was able to fine the back of the net 5 times to run the score to 8-0.

The Lady Hornet defense had another stellar performance, limiting Dyersburg to 3 shots on goal. Keeper Sadie Nelson was able to handle the shots, earning her 3rd straight clean sheet.

The Lady Hornets racked up several awards during the award ceremony after the game.

Coach Ellis was named the 14AA Regular Season and Tournament Coach of the year.

The Lady Hornets will host Lexington in the Region 7AA semifinals Tuesday, October 22, at 6:00 PM.
